Since 1994, Sandy has also run her own independent consultancy business. Sandy is a freelance facilitator, mediator and undertakes leadership development and consultancy in a wide range of HR, OD and L&D areas.
Sandy is passionate about and committed to creating engaging learning and development, in order to build the capacity and capability of people. She has a proven track record of successful start-up and design, development and facilitation of programmes / projects, delivering to budget, agreed time-scales and outcomes. Sandy supports people to enhance their capabilities, effectiveness and employability. She has experience both as a lecturer and researcher/staff developer. Impact and evaluation of provision/programmes are important to Sandy to evidence the impact and that the initiative makes a difference.
Sandy worked at Warwick University for 20 years (until December 2019), the last decade as an Organisational Development Consultant leading the Learning & Development provision for Research Active Staff (circa 2200 staff) including various leadership training / learning and development initiatives. The leadership training consisted of blended learning, face-to-face workshop programmes, coaching, and one-to-one support. She designed and delivered numerous leadership programmes to staff on a range of grades, roles (Research and Teaching, i.e. Academic roles and Professional Services) and disciplines.
Sandy has been an invited speaker and trainer/ facilitator, produced specialist and generalist publications for practitioners and non-practitioners, presented at conferences, written blogs and articles as well as submitting tenders. She is an associate for The British Council, Vitae and Advance HE. Sandy is a coach and mentor and an experienced project manager. She is also a Board member/ Trustee of Coventry Boys & Girls Club.
