A new funding scheme to support College-Based and Small, Specialist and Independent higher education providers in Advance HE membership is now open and accepting applications.
Innovative Practice Grants are designed to support UK-based Small, Specialist and Independent (SSI) and College-Based higher education (CBHE) members to share good practice and impactful initiatives through case studies funded by Advance HE.
Grants of £500 will be awarded to successful applicants from Advance HE SSI and CBHE member institutions to provide short case studies of recent practice that align with one of three themes:
Innovations in teaching and learning
Initiatives or projects that share innovative and forward-looking approaches to teaching and supporting learning such as student engagement, employability, assessment, student retention, technology-enhanced learning, or engaging with the Professional Standards Framework and staff development.
Building inclusion and belonging
Initiatives or projects that share impactful and engaging examples of building inclusion and equality on campus such as student or staff training initiatives, gender/race or other equality projects, strategic data collection and analysis, innovative policy development, or projects to embed/support engagement with inclusion.
Engaging leadership
Initiatives or projects that share how leadership is used to make a difference, such as, student leadership projects, research leadership, leading change or culture programmes, diversifying leadership, staff leadership development, or projects that display an innovative approach to leadership.
Karen Taylor, Membership Manager at Advance HE, said,
“I am delighted to launch this new opportunity for our College-Based and Small, Specialist and Independent higher education members to share success stories on projects with a demonstrable impact on their staff or students.
“Sharing good practice and learning from each other is a cornerstone of the support we provide for Advance HE members. Our new Innovative Practice Grants scheme is a really important new way to showcase all the great work that these non-traditional providers of higher education can contribute to the sector.”
