Mike has 27 years' experience in a broad range of post-compulsory education settings. Prior to his current role, he was responsible for Monash's Education Innovation team, leading major changes to the student experience including curriculum transformation, learning management system renewal, and university-wide eAssessment.
At Murdoch University, where he led the Centre for University Teaching and Learning, Mike was responsible for increasing HE participation via pre-university enabling programmes, and improving professional learning for staff via a CPD programme accredited by Advance HE.
Mike's specialism is in learning and teaching enhancement at a strategic level; he has held several senior roles in further education and was Vice Principal of Long Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge between 2007 and 2014, where he served as institutional quality nominee. His research explores links between pedagogic knowledge and computational data.
